Tenis na VŠCHT Praha
Tenisový klub VŠCHT Praha je sportovní klub podporující tenisové hráče z řad studentům a zaměstnanců VŠCHT Praha. Hráči, obvykle mírně pokročilí až pokročilí (závodní), mají možnost hrát na kurtech Víceúčelového sportoviště ČVUT – Kotlářka, které je situováno cca 10 min pěšky od Dejvického areálu VŠCHT. Sportoviště disponuje kurty s umělým povrchem a zázemím v podobě šaten a sociálního zařízení. Od podzimu do jara jsou kurty kryty nafukovací tenisovou halou. Tenisový klub zajišťuje tenisové míče a umožňuje hráčům si zdarma zapůjčit i tenisové rakety. Z provozních důvodů není bohužel možné zajistit výuku začátečníků.
Každý semestr se za hráče do 26 let věku platí ČAUS (České asociaci univerzitního sportu) členský příspěvek, proti kterému je VŠCHT ze strany ČAUS poskytována podpora sportovních aktivit. Jelikož se příspěvek platí pouze za studenty do 26 let věku s rodným číslem, někteří hráči by byli nespravedlivě poplatkem zatížení, zatímco jiní by byli osvobozeni. Z tohoto důvodu se konkrétní výše poplatku spojeného s Tenisovým klubem VŠCHT každý semestr rozpočítává dle skutečného počtu hráčů tak, aby byla ČAUS odvedená částka spravedlivě rozdělena. Poplatek za semestr nepřesáhne 500 Kč.
Během semestru se hraje dvě hodiny týdně na dvou kurtech, a to v pátky od 12:00 do 14:00. První týden ZS se obvykle z důvodů konání pravidelného Tenisového turnaje pro studenty a zaměstnance VŠCHT Praha nehraje. Stejně tak odpadá jedna hodina v ZS i LS na stavbu, resp. bourání haly. Hraní ve zkouškovém období je domlouváno a hrazeno individuálně dle dohody.
Za pravidelné hraní v semestru je (po předchozím zápisu v SIS před začátkem semestru) možné získat jeden kredit z předmětu Tělesná výchova (V827001).
Další aktivitou Tenisového klubu VŠCHT Praha je pořádání Tenisového turnaje pro studenty a zaměstnance VŠCHT Praha. Turnaj se obvykle koná první pátek zimního semestru, přibližně v polovině září.

Tennis at UCT Prague
The Tennis club of UCT Prague is a sport club supporting tennis players from the ranks of students and employees of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague). The players, usually intermediate to advanced (competitive), can play in the courts of the Sport centre of the Czech Technical University – Kotlářka, which is situated within a 10 min walking distance of the Dejvice campus of UCT Prague. There are synthetic carpet courts in the sport centre as well as lockers, showers, and restrooms. Autumn to spring, there is an inflatable tennis hall allowing for all-year operation. The tennis club provides tennis balls and allows students to rent a tennis racket free of charge. Due to operational reasons, it is unfortunately not possible to provide training to beginners.
Every semester, there is a fee paid to CAUS (Czech association of university sport), for which CAUS supports sports at UCT Prague. Given the fact that the fee is paid by students of less than 26 years of age and with the Czech/Slovak birth number, some players would be unfairly burdened by a fee while others wouldn’t. It is for this reason why the particular amount is every semester evenly and fairly distributed between all the players of the Tennis club of CUT Prague. The fee does not exceed 500 CZK (ca 20 EUR).
During the teaching period of the semester, we play in two courts for two hours every Friday from 12:00 till 14:00. Since the Tennis tournament for students and employees of UCT Prague usually takes place on the first Friday of winter semester, the first day of regular playing is usually moved to the second Friday of the teaching period in winter semester. Furthermore, one week, both in winter and in summer semester, is cancelled due to the construction/demolition of the tennis hall. Playing during the assessment period is organized and paid individually.
After registering Physical education (subject code AV827001) in the Students Information System (SIS), every student can get 1 credit for regular attendance.
Another activity organized by the tennis club of UCT Prague is Tennis tournament for students and employees of UCT Prague. The tournament usually takes place on the first Friday of the winter semester, approximately in the middle of September.
